About

I have owned, worked with, trained, and loved dogs all my life. In my early 20s, I started working at a local animal shelter and eventually became a veterinary technician caring for all types of homeless sick and injured animals that came into the shelter. I moved on from there and became an animal control officer where many of my duties involved dealing with animals in a public safety setting, handling cruelty and aggressive dog cases, and enforcing laws pertaining to state and local animal code. After working in the animal control field for 6 years I became a reserve police officer and eventually a K9 officer for a local Law Enforcement agency.Upon leaving the field of law enforcement, I put my skills to work in the pet dog arena. Now, working as a private dog trainer, my goal is to educate pet dog owners in all things dog. My focus is on training pet dogs, coaching people to train basic dog obedience behaviors, helping to rehabilitate fearful or aggressive dogs, and educate and enlighten people about how dogs learn and how best to teach them. Through our training programs, I help both dogs and people learn skills that build confidence, create a communication system, and establish strong bonds so they can reach their training goals while keeping the dog/human relationship intact.
